What is the difference between handmade soap and store “soap”?
What many people think of as “soap” found in many stores is not actually soap at all. Most of those cleansers use descriptions such as “beauty bar,” “moisturizing bar,” “body wash,” etc. Because they are made with synthetic detergents, they do not meet the regulatory definition of soap and, therefore, cannot have “soap” on their label.

True soap is made by combining fats or oils and an alkali, such as lye. The alkali reacts with the oils in a process called saponification, turning what starts out as liquid into blocks of soap. When made properly, no lye remains in the finished product.

Does your soap work well in hard water?
Yes. It does lather in hard water. We speak from first-hand experience (unfortunately).

Do your products contain any dyes?
No, we never add dyes to our products. Any coloring is a result of our natural process.

Is the product packaging recyclable?
Yes.
Our soap boxes are made of white paper. They are recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable.
Our lotion bottles are BPA free and are made of PET plastic. They are considered recyclable.
Note: Recycling companies may have different definitions for what is considered acceptable.
